NUMERICS IN GEOTECHNICS & STRUCTURES
2008
at epfl_lausanne
NEWS: Version ZSOIL.PC 2007 is available Z_Soil past, present and future users will again meet in
Lausanne in 2008. Z_Soil.PC,
came out
in 1985 after 3 years of intensive development work and has since then
steadily
gained acceptance among practitioners as well as teachers and
researchers on all continents.
The meeting will be an opportunity for Z_Soil users to exchange
experience and ideas. Presentations will include invited lectures,
tutorials by the development team and presentations by experienced
users.Other contributions are welcome.
CALL FOR PAPERS: 5 lines abstracts
of papers on the topic of NUMERICS IN GEOTECHNICS, with or without
direct connection to Z_Soil.PC can be submitted any time. Who should attend: engineers confronted with the need to
perform numerical simulations for underground , above ground or
combined constructions will have an opportunity to exchange experience,
see presentations of recent case studies and get a comprehensive
introduction to numerical simulations using Z_Soil.PC in 2D or
3D space, in dry or partially saturated rock or soil, with full
structural capabilities, with soil-structure interaction, interfaces,
thermal effects, ultimate load evaluation, continuous safety
assessment, including creep, swelling, dilation, etc.
What is Z_SOIL.PC:Z_SOIL.PC
is a complete user-friendly 2D/3D finite element package for soil, rock
and soil-structure analysis available and used worldwide since 1985,
and
continuously upgraded. The program was developed at Zace Services Ltd,
by
a team of engineers with research experience at the Swiss Federal
Institute
of Technology in Lausanne, Cracow University of Technology, UC
Berkeley,
California Institute of Technology, Purdue University, Stanford
University.
The aim is to provide the civil engineer with a simple tool to
accurately
support geomechanical and structural engineering analysis and
dimensioning.
